UNREAL: Female science teacher apologizes after feeding sick kitten to snake at school in Texas

A student in Texas complained after a teacher said she had four sick kittens from her cat at home and fed one of them to her pet snake at school. Apparently this wasn’t done in the presence of her students.

It bothered one of the students so much that they asked if they could take the other three sick kittens home, which died later.

The teacher apologized and no chargers were ever filed after the school was given the choice on how to proceed by the local police department.

Here’s more from Daily Mail:

A female science teacher has apologized after students complained when she fed a live kitten to a snake in the classroom.

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) issued a blistering statement condemning the actions of the unnamed teacher after a student’s parents complained to the organization.

The teacher of animal science in Alvord, Texas – about an hour north of Fort Worth – was accused of bringing in four sick kittens that were born by her cat and feeding one of them to the snake, according to the complainant.

One of the students in the classroom was so disturbed that they reportedly asked to take the remaining three kittens home, where they all later died.

The complainant reported that the teacher even taunted the student, telling them: ‘You can’t save them all’.

She also reportedly said that she was feeding the kittens to snakes at her home. After receiving the complaint, PETA called on the high school to ban the use of live animals in the classroom and investigate the teacher’s conduct.

‘If reports are true, an educator who should be teaching her students empathy and respect for others is instead tearing newborn kittens from their mother and subjecting them to a painful, terrifying death in front of shocked and traumatized teenagers,’ PETA Vice President Rachelle Owen said.

‘Anyone who would demonstrate such cruel and disturbing behavior shouldn’t be around children or animals, and PETA is calling for an immediate investigation and a ban on live animals in all Alvord classrooms’.

Alvord Superintendent Randy Brown confirmed that the teacher fed one ‘ailing’ kitten to a snake ‘outside the presence of students’.

The shocking incident was investigated by the Alvord ISD Police Department and the Wise County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control after a parent reported it.

Authorities then gave the district administration the power to determine the next steps, and no criminal charges were filed.

‘The teacher, an experienced educator and animal lover, has apologized to the students for her actions and voluntarily removed all snakes from her classroom,’ Brown said.

The superintendent added that the district had limits to what they could share, but acknowledged that students were upset.

The parent whose child took home the other three kittens, anonymously told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, that her daughter texted her on September 3 asking if she could take the kittens home.

I can’t believe this is even a story. And for once, I think I’m on the side of PETA on this one.

Report Claims TSA Surveillance Program Under Biden Administration Used To Spy On GOP Congress Members, DHS Issues Statement Saying Agency Weaponized Against “Innocent American Citizens”

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in a joint announcement with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), said the Biden administration weaponized the TSA against “innocent American citizens.”

The DHS said an internal investigation uncovered “widespread abuses” committed by Biden administration officials.

“These officials, under the direction and leadership of former Biden TSA Administrator David Pekoske, systematically watchlisted and denied boarding to those who exercised their individual rights and resisted mask mandates on airplanes nearly six months after the CDC relaxed its indoor mask mandate,” the statement read.

“In an unprecedented act, the Biden TSA then used the January 6, 2021, protests as an excuse to target several dozen U.S. citizens. These Americans were watchlisted and harassed despite there being no evidence of wrongdoing or illegal behavior,” it continued.

“DHS uncovered that the Biden administration engaged in an unprecedented campaign of putting U.S. citizens on high-severity, no-fly lists for nonviolent political dissent,” DHS wrote on social media.

“Biden’s TSA abused their authority to punish Americans for reasons ‘clearly unrelated to transportation security,’ including 280 individuals allegedly involved in the January 6 Capitol protests and 19 that merely resisted mask mandates,” it continued.

“@Sec_Noem is referring this case to @TheJusticeDept and Congress for further investigation. President Trump is making good on his promise to end the weaponization of government against Americans,” it added.

More from the joint announcement:

This targeted campaign of harassment continued through June 2021, six months after the events in question, despite no clear or immediate threat to aviation security. The campaign also coincided with hundreds of January 6th protestors being locked away by the Biden Department of Justice. These Biden-era officials continued to target Americans even after career intelligence officials and even Biden’s TSA Chief Privacy Officer sounded the alarm over these abusive actions.

The Biden-era TSA’s actions demonstrate clear political bias. For example, these officials chose NOT to flag individuals who attacked law enforcement, burned down cities, and destroyed property during the widespread and violent George Floyd protests in 2020. During this abuse of power, some TSA officials raised serious concerns about these privacy violations and political targeting. They were ignored.

The TSA administrator has legal authority to prevent an individual from boarding an aircraft, task Federal Air Marshals with surveilling an individual, or place them on a watchlist, but it is only intended to be used to track and prevent dangerous criminals and terrorists from carrying out attacks on Americans. Clearly, those targeted by Administrator Pekoske posed no such threat.

These revelations come after another internal investigation discovered that the TSA conducted unwarranted surveillance on now-Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard under the Quiet Skies program. At the same time, it granted special privileges to Bill Shaheen, the husband of Democratic New Hampshire Senator, Jeanne Shaheen, who traveled with a Known or Suspected Terrorist multiple times.

According to journalist Matt Taibbi, the Quiet Skies program was also used to spy on three Republican members of Congress.

Taibbi writes in Racket News:

Ahead of Tuesday hearings on the subject, the Senate’s Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC) obtained documents showing three members of Congress, all Republicans, were followed under the TSA’s just-discontinued Quiet Skies program, which became infamous last summer when whistleblowers revealed bomb-sniffing dogs and Air Marshals were assigned to follow former Hawaii Congresswoman and future National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard.

The members’ names have not yet been publicly released, but they were turned over to the Committee by the Department of Homeland Security, along with “TSA” notes explaining how they ended up on the list. Two of the three members made it onto the list before being elected, but as the Committee notes, “a cursory review would have revealed them to be a member of Congress, or a decorated U.S. veteran or service member.”

Elon Musk Leads Mass Netflix Membership Cancellations After Company’s Children’s Cartoon Creator Smears Charlie Kirk as a ‘Nazi’

Billionaire Elon Musk has added his name to the mushrooming number of consumers cancelling their Netflix membership after the streaming giant’s children’s cartoon show creator Hamish Steele smeared slain conservative icon Charlie Kirk as a “Nazi.”

Steele, an animator credited with creating the Netflix cartoon series Dead End: Paranormal Park, took to BlueSky after Kirk was assassinated and defamed the conservative firebrand in a vile tirade.

“Why the fuck are you even commenting on this, dickhead?” Steele said on the social media platform on September 11. “You sympathy for any of the families being slaughtered by your weapons. but a random nazi gets shot and its a public statement. You’re such a fucking evil shit.”

Netflix canceled Dead End: Paranormal Park in 2023 after two seasons.

Libs of TikTok captured the screed from Steele and shared it on X.

Not long after, X owner Elon Musk said “Same” in response to a tweet in which former Department of Energy staffer Matt Van Swol said “Just cancelled my Netflix subscription.”

Steele is among the thousands, including educators, healthcare professionals, public servants, and elected officials, among others, who celebrated Kirk’s assassination.

Dead End Paranormal Park was already receiving criticism online on Tuesday after Libs of TikTok pointed out the series was being aimed at audiences as young as 7-year-old, despite the Netflix show including a transgender storyline. “Parents- BEWARE,” the popular account captioned a tweet, which included a clip of a character coming out as trans.

Muslim Rights Groups: US Army Grooming Standards May Infringe on Religious Freedom

Muslim U.S. soldiers at prayer.

Muslim rights groups are concerned that new US Army grooming standards will exclude Muslims and Sikhs from serving. There are only about 10,000 – 20,000 US service members who identify as Muslim, and Sikhs appear to number only in the low double digits.

An ancillary effect of the policy is that it reinforces the elimination of accommodations for transgender soldiers, requiring them to dress and meet the standards of their birth gender.

The Army announced updated appearance, grooming, and uniform standards following a force-wide review, emphasizing professionalism and discipline as reflections of Army values. Key changes include clarified rules on hairstyles, cosmetics, fingernails, jewelry, uniforms, insignia, and body composition assessments. Developed with input from leaders across the Army, the policy is intended to realign standards with warfighting priorities and eliminate ambiguity.

The Army also reinforced its facial hair policy in July 2025 through Army Directive 2025-13, requiring soldiers to remain clean-shaven in uniform or while on duty in civilian clothes, with only temporary medical exemptions and permanent religious accommodations.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called on the Pentagon to protect the religious rights of military personnel after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced a new “no beards” policy. Hegseth told military leaders, “no more beards… we’re going to cut our hair, shave our beards and adhere to standards.” CAIR urged the Department of Defense to clarify that religious accommodations will remain in place for Sikhs, Muslims, Jews, and others.

Historically, the rule in the US Army for about 100 years has been that the Army allows religious freedom and will accommodate as much as it can. However, the priority is always the mission, followed by the men, or in Army terms, “mission, men.” While attempts would be made to accommodate religious practices, if a practice prevents a soldier from carrying out duties, then that individual cannot serve.

For example, Jewish soldiers were allowed to wear a yarmulke under their helmet because it did not interfere with equipment. But a beard, even for religious reasons, was not permitted because a protective mask would no longer seal. Similarly, a Sikh turban could not be worn with a combat uniform because it interfered with the helmet and other equipment

From 1948 to 1984, Sikh men were permitted to serve in the US military while wearing beards and turbans. That changed in 1984, when Gen. John A. Wickham Jr., then Chief of Staff of the Army, eliminated the exception for Sikhs and others who wore “conspicuous” items of faith, citing health and safety concerns. The official reasoning was that turbans and uncut hair interfered with helmets and equipment, while beards prevented protective masks from sealing properly.

Civil rights groups later argued that these rules “effectively prevented Sikhs from enlisting” by barring turbans and beards. But that framing is misleading. The policy did not bar Sikhs from service; it simply required them to meet the same standards as every other soldier.

This debate illustrates the conservative/liberal divide. Conservatives see equality as one rule applied to everyone, while liberals see equality as different rules for different groups based on religion, race, gender, or sexual orientation.

Since January 2017, the Army has reversed course and now allows permanent religious accommodations for soldiers to wear beards, turbans, hijabs, and other articles of faith. Beards may be as long as desired, provided they can be rolled up and compressed to less than two inches from the bottom of the chin. Under the current policy, brigade-level commanders can approve these accommodations, whereas previously the authority rested with the Army Secretary. The Army explained the change as part of an effort to ensure soldiers can serve in a manner consistent with their faith and to recruit from the broadest pool of America’s talent.

However, the reasoning behind the old bans has not changed. Studies still show that beard growth degrades the protective seal of gas masks to an unacceptable degree. The rules now state that commanders can order bearded soldiers to shave only when there is specific and concrete evidence of an expected chemical attack, and such orders must come from General Court-Martial Convening Authority-level commanders. In other words, the policy assumes the enemy will politely phone ahead so soldiers have time for a quick shave before the attack.

Some sanity has prevailed, however, as soldiers with a religious accommodation for beards may not attend schools requiring toxic chemical agent training, nor can they be assigned to positions that demand compliance with biological, chemical, or nuclear surety requirements.

The Army also officially allows soldiers to wear turbans in place of issued Army headgear, with these accommodations made permanent in 2017. Soldiers are authorized to wear turbans, and unless their duties require the Army Combat Helmet or other protective gear, they are not required to wear additional military headgear.

During training or deployment, however, when protective equipment is necessary, soldiers must wear the combat helmet or other gear, either over or instead of the turban, whenever the mission requires it.

The new grooming directives also end the Army’s practice of accommodating men who identify as women or vice versa. While most transgender personnel are still allowed to serve, they must do so in their biological sex and meet all related standards. The updated rules establish uniform appearance requirements for all soldiers, specifying that male soldiers are prohibited from wearing cosmetics, nail polish, or earrings except by medical exemption, while female soldiers may wear limited makeup to achieve an even skin tone, clear or skin-tone tinted lip gloss, clear nail polish with fingernails no longer than a quarter inch, and simple stud earrings in certain uniforms.

Commanders are instructed to enforce grooming, uniform, body composition, medical, and physical standards according to biological sex rather than gender identity. In effect, the 2025 policy ensures that all grooming and appearance standards are applied uniformly. This is all part of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s mission to restore the Army to a warfighting force, free of social experiments and liberal ideology.

BREAKING: OMG: Democrat Senator Ed Markey’s Special Assistant Admits Using Autopen WITHOUT Markey’s Knowledge

The O’Keefe Media Group on Tuesday released undercover video of Democrat Senator Ed Markey’s special assistant admitting to using the autopen without Markey’s knowledge.

Jordan Jefferson, the executive assistant to Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey described how he and others use Markey’s autopen.

“For my Senator, we do autopen,” Jordan Jefferson told an undercover OMG journalist.

The OMG journalist pressed Jefferson, “Do you have to, like, tell him exactly what’s on it?”

He replied, “I do it because I respect your signature. But nobody else. Some people don’t ask [Ed Markey].

He continued, “I’ve never heard anybody ask, “can I use the autopen?”

Jordan Jefferson went on to explain that the autopen abuse is used to give Senator Markey cover.

“I mean, it’s easy to blame your staff, because nobody knows who they are,” Jefferson said. “Even if you did sign it, be like, oh, I didn’t know my staff did it.”

Jefferson said it’s like a get-out-of-jail-free card for Markey.

House Democrats' government funding proposal goes down in flames with shutdown deadline in hours

House Democrats were blocked from passing a bill to restore NPR, PBS funding

House Democrats made a last-ditch effort to pass their own government funding proposal on Tuesday, which was quickly scuttled by the GOP.

Democrats are pushing a short-term extension of the current federal funding levels — called a continuing resolution (CR) — through Oct. 31, which also includes a host of left-wing policy riders derided by Republicans as non-starters.

With the deadline to avert a government shutdown less than 12 hours away, Democrat lawmakers gathered on the House floor with the intent of calling for unanimous consent to pass their bill.

It takes just one House Republican to block such a move, which appears to be what Rep. Warren Davidson, R-Ohio, was poised to do. Dozens of Democrats, meanwhile, were gathered on the House floor to await the move.

SHUTDOWN EXPLAINED: WHO WORKS, WHO DOESN'T AND HOW MUCH IT COSTS

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries speaks during a news conference on Capitol Hill in Washington.

But the Republican designated to run the floor for the day, Rep. Morgan Griffith, R-Va., ignored their yells of "Mr. Speaker." He instead gaveled out the House's brief session without acknowledging them at all.

Sparse chants of "shame on you" could be heard from Democrats after the session ended.

Under rules dictated by the Constitution, the chamber must meet for brief periods every few days called "pro forma" sessions to ensure continuity, even if there are no formal legislative matters at hand.

Pro forma sessions can also be opportunities for lawmakers to give brief speeches or introduce legislation that they otherwise would not have.

The House passed a GOP-led CR largely along party lines earlier this month. It would keep current government funding levels roughly flat until Nov. 21 to give Congress more time to strike a deal on fiscal year 2026 spending levels.

The measure is free from other policy riders, save for about $88 million toward enhanced security for lawmakers, the White House and the judicial branch — which has bipartisan support.

But Democrats, furious at being sidelined in those government funding discussions, are calling for both an extension of COVID-19 pandemic-era Obamacare subsidies and an end to Republicans' recent Medicaid cuts in exchange for their support.

Their CR proposal would have reversed those Medicaid changes and restored federal funding to NPR and PBS that Republicans cut earlier this year.

Schumer at the Capitol

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., turns to an aide during a news conference at the Capitol in Washington on June 3, 2025.

Republicans, including President Donald Trump, have accused Democrats of making unreasonable partisan demands while holding federal government operations hostage in the process.

The House-passed CR is expected to be considered in the Senate later on Tuesday, where at least some Democrat support is needed to meet the 60-vote threshold to overcome a filibuster.
