Tom Homan to hold weekly press briefings on border security, deportations to ensure transparency

Incoming Trump-appointed border czar Tom Homan is planning to have weekly press briefings to communicate to the American people the different arrests of illegal immigrants in the United States. This comes as President-elect Donald Trump and Homan have promised to crack down on illegal immigration into the country as well as secure the border.

Homan, while talking to Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, was asked by the founder about his thoughts on how to prepare for messaging from media outlets surrounding immigration.

Homan said, "Immigration enforcement has always been controversial. It's always been emotional. I get it. But we're a nation of laws, and we're going to enforce those laws. If you come to this country illegally, that is a crime. I'm sick and tired of hearing illegal aliens commit less crimes than American citizens. Every illegal alien is a criminal."

Homan told Kirk that he has had a number of death threats made against him since being appointed by Trump and did not bring his family to the event. The two held the discussion for a podcast episode recorded in Phoenix at TPUSA's 2024 America Fest.

"So the hate's coming," Homan said. "But we need to control the messaging. Right? So I've told President Trump that what we need to do, do a weekly press briefing. Let's show the American people who we arrested, why we arrested them. Let's show where we arrested them. What kind of bad guys we arrested in that sanctuary city."

Homan and Trump have promised to make it a priority to deport illegal immigrants in the US who have been involved in gangs or violent crime.

Homan previously told reporters, “The priorities will focus on public safety threats, national security threats and fugitives,” those who “got due process at great taxpayer expense and the federal judge ordered them removed, but they didn’t leave, and they became a fugitive.”

During the Biden-Harris administration, many of the border security policies implemented by Trump during his first term were reversed, leading to record illegal immigration happening the last four years. Among the principal threats from the soft-border security policies is the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang, which has started operating in several US states.

PAY ATTENTION! Evidence Is Coming Out That Elon Musk Hacked the Voting Machines

Last week, we reported on a viral post asking if Donald Trump had really won the election or if there was something darker going on. The majority of the replies, and there were many of them, agreed that something darker was going on. What? No one could say. They just knew something was fishy because there was no way Trump won the popular vote.

We've been assured there's no one lower than an election denier (roll the video of Democrats denying the 2016 election for 24 minutes straight). But evidence is reportedly coming out day by day that Elon Musk and others hacked the voting machines. This reminds us of Green Party candidate Jill Stein in 2016 suggesting that Russians had entered the polling places with floppy disks and reprogrammed the voting machines.

Anyway, it's déja vu all over again:

Everyone is scared to get their hopes up that they won't certify the electoral votes and we'll have to have another election or something but only after MAGA has torn down the security gates and stormed the Capitol again. In any case, she's certainly stirred up the bots. Check out these bots:

No. The 2020 election was "the greatest success of American democracy in history."

Don't stop believin'.

Pramila Jayapal Takes Lead in 'Stupidest Post of 2024' Contest With Hot Take on Guns and Concert Tickets

Tell us you've never actually bought a gun -- a so-called 'assault weapon' or otherwise -- without telling us you've never actually bought a gun.

That's Pramila Jayapal in a nutshell.

It's clear she has no idea what gun laws are or how the process of purchasing a gun actually works, and she's going to make sure she shares her ignorance with the rest of us.

Um. It's not.

This writer has bought both, and here's what she had to do to get a gun:

  1. Go to the gun store.
  2. Show her ID.
  3. Fill out federal Form 4473 so that it exactly matched her ID.
  4. Answer a bunch of questions.
  5. Have the clerk run the background check.
  6. Pay for the gun.

Here's what this writer had to do to buy concert tickets.

  1. Go to the website.
  2. Select her seats.
  3. Pay for the tickets.

So Jayapal is either a) lying or b) stupid.

This writer will let her decide.

What kind of concert is she going to?!

Quite the accomplishment.

Ouch.

And that competition is stiff, for sure.

Nope. Not there.

And it's still harder to buy a gun.

Exactly this.

Clearly.

A tank would be so badass, not gonna lie.

Not a chance.

It sure did.

And we're okay with that. We want people to see how incredibly stupid and dishonest our so-called political 'leaders' really are.

Puerto Rico Crippled by Mass Power Outage on New Year’s Eve

A blackout darkened almost all of Puerto Rico early Tuesday morning as the U.S. territory prepared for New Year’s celebrations.

The loss of power means more than 1.2 million out of 1.47 million clients on the island are in the dark with baffled local officials saying it could take up to two days to restore power.

AP reports the devastating mass outage hit at dawn, plunging Puerto Rico into an eerie silence as electrical appliances and air conditioners shut down before those who could afford generators quickly turned them on.

“It had to be on the 31st of December!” exclaimed one man quoted by the outlet, who only gave his name as Manuel, as he stood outside a grocery store in the capital of San Juan, grumbling about the outage that coincided with his birthday. “There is no happiness.”

A public transport bus drives on a dark street in San Juan, Puerto Rico after a major power outage hit the island on December 31, 2024.

Nearly 90 percent of 1.47 million clients across Puerto Rico were left in the dark, according to Luma Energy, a private company that oversees electricity transmission and distribution.

Luma said in a statement that it appears the outage was caused by a failure of an underground power line, saying it is restoring power “in the quickest and safest way possible.” A Luma spokesman told AP the incident remains under investigation.

Puerto Rico Governor Pedro Pierluisi said in a post on social media that his administration was communicating with both LUMA and Genera “regarding the massive blackout affecting a large part of the Island due to a critical fault.”

AP notes while blackouts are rare in Puerto Rico, the island struggles with chronic power outages blamed on a crumbling power grid that was razed by Hurricane Maria, a Category 4 storm back in September 2017.

At the same time Puerto Rico’s Electric Power Authority struggles to restructure more than $9 billion in debt, the largest of the island’s government agencies.

The island’s struggle with a near-total blackout comes after it joined the 50 states and Washington, DC. in August 2022 to submit plans to the Biden administration to help build a nationwide electric vehicle charging network linked to the national grid.
