US Ambassador-designate to Israel Mike Huckabee says ‘world will see under President Trump that Iranian-backed terrorism can’t be rewarded’

In a Thanksgiving Special episode of THE ROSENBERG REPORT on TBN, U.S. Ambassador-designate to Israel Mike Huckabee said the nomination to the role “came out of the clear blue” for him.

“I did not lobby President Trump or suggest to him that I really wanted this position. I never mentioned it to him,” the former Arkansas governor told show host, Joel Rosenberg.

“When I got the call… I was floored. I did not expect it. President Trump called. He told me, ‘I want you to be the ambassador to Israel and I'm looking forward to you saying, yes.’”

Not only did Huckabee say yes to U.S. President-elect Donald J. Trump but he also told Rosenberg, “This is the one thing that I sort of had to have that Isaiah moment and say, here am I, send me.”

“It's a privilege. I fully feel it as a calling from above to be able to be in this position at this very point of time, when Israel needs to know that they have absolute friends,” he continued.  

Rosenberg noted that Huckabee was the first non-Jew to be appointed to the position in about 20 years.

“More importantly, this is actually the first time that a devout, avowed and unabashed, and very public Evangelical Christian leader in the United States has ever been appointed to this position. I think that's extraordinary,” Rosenberg added.

Huckabee agreed that Trump made a significant choice by picking him and explained that the president-elect is very much aware of the vast support (89%) he received from Evangelical voters in the last elections.  

“He also recognizes that Evangelical Christians in the United States support Israel probably more solidly than most American Jews do. And I hear that not only in the U.S., but I hear it in Israel when I'm there, and it's said by Israeli officials constantly,” Huckabee stressed.

He described the overwhelmingly positive reaction in the United States to his nomination as a “blessing.” Moreover, Huckabee noted that it is a testament to the fact that Israel – an unapologetically and devotedly Jewish state – is not in any way hostile or unfriendly toward people who may not be Jewish.

“This is a big opportunity to say to the world, for all of you that say Israel is an apartheid state - let it be said, it isn't... Look at the reaction to my being named. It defies that. And it's such a wonderful statement both on President Trump's part, but also the Israeli people part,” Huckabee explained.

One of the first people who called to congratulate him on his appointment was Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with whom he has enjoyed a “delightful friendship” for over 30 years.

Last December, Huckabee and Rosenberg met privately with Netanyahu while co-leading the first high-level Evangelical delegation to Israel following the Oct. 7 Hamas attack. The solidarity mission included visits to some of the Israeli border communities devastated by Hamas and meetings with the families of hostages who were abducted into the Gaza Strip during the attack.

Overall, the ambassador-designate said, he has visited Israel about 100 times in almost 52 years throughout his career. His strong relationships with Israelis span from government to the private sector to communities and individuals.

“People know you and they trust you here,” Rosenberg told Huckabee.

Nevertheless, he has frequently faced criticism from various directions for expressing views rooted in his religious beliefs. For example, Huckabee insists on referring to the territory of the ‘West Bank’ by its biblical name, ‘Judea and Samaria.’

“I have been very clear through many, many years of my travels to and from Israel that I don't use the term West Bank because – that's a term that doesn't mean anything. I use the terms that are biblical, ‘Judea and Samaria,’” he explained.

“I don't talk about ‘occupied territory’ because the only people who are occupying it are the people who have title deed to it. For the past 3,500 years, when Abraham was handed this deed by God, Himself. So, there are some things that for me as a person of the Book who believes the Bible to be authoritative, that I don't have an option, but I have to stick to the biblical language because that's the language that has survived history.”

Huckabee added that he gets sometimes “in trouble” for mentioning the fact that a Palestinian state never existed historically. This, however, does not imply that his faith shaped his compassion solely for Israelis.

When asked by Rosenberg for his message to the Palestinian people, Huckabee replied that they deserve the “highest level of respect.” His vision for the end of the conflict is not based upon a two-state government solution, but rather a “two-people humanitarian opportunity” in which the Palestinians must recognize the State of Israel's right to exist.  

“Some of the most incredibly important things that I've seen happening for the Palestinian people have happened because of economic opportunities that were brought about by private sector companies,” he noted.

“That's the future, where people have economic opportunity.”

As he prepares to potentially move to Israel after being confirmed as ambassador by the U.S. Senate, Rosenberg asked Huckabee: “What worries you most as you come into this position in a time of Israel's darkest hour?”

Without any hesitation, he answered: Iran.

Huckabee believes that the Iranian regime is the centerpiece of all regional problems and threats. This reality would be dealt with differently by the incoming administration, in his view. His forecast is based on Trump’s actions during his first term in office from January 2017 to January 2021. Huckabee expects to see more of the “maximum pressure” campaign with heavy economic sanctions that will bankrupt Iran internally under a strong U.S. leadership.

“The United States must show its solidarity with Israel, and I hope that that leadership will extend to Europe, Asia and the rest of the world. People will see that you cannot reward the kind of terrorist activity that has been funded by the Iranian government and somehow get away with that,” he emphasized.

More and More Ukrainian Soldiers Are Deserting the Frontlines – Catastrophic Numbers Could Be as High as 200,000 Troops AWOL

The lack of manpower has developed into an even greater problem for the Ukrainian troops than the lack of missiles, drones, artillery, or any other weapons systems.

Not only death and the wounded leave Kiev’s troops lacking strength, but the deserters have become a major issue.

Desertion is ‘starving’ the army and crippling its battle plans.

Associated Press reported:

“Facing every imaginable shortage, tens of thousands of Ukrainian troops, tired and bereft, have walked away from combat and front-line positions to slide into anonymity, according to soldiers, lawyers and Ukrainian officials. Entire units have abandoned their posts, leaving defensive lines vulnerable and accelerating territorial losses, according to military commanders and soldiers.”

Some leave and never return after being treated for wounds, and others run away in the middle of a firefight.

Kiev’s failed mobilization drive fails to remedy the overstretching and hollowing out of front-line units.

“More than 100,000 soldiers have been charged under Ukraine’s desertion laws since Russia invaded in February 2022, according to the country’s General Prosecutor’s Office.”

It’s understandable that the number of soldiers gone AWOL has spiked in the last year, after Kiev launched a brutal and controversial mobilization drive.

“It’s a staggeringly high number by any measure, as there were an estimated 300,000 Ukrainian soldiers engaged in combat before the mobilization drive began. And the actual number of deserters may be much higher. One lawmaker with knowledge of military matters estimated it could be as high as 200,000.”

A deserter heard by AP said he left his unit to get surgery. But by the time his leave was up, he couldn’t bring himself to return. He still reportedly has nightmares about the comrades he saw get killed.

“’The best way to explain it is imagining you are sitting under incoming fire and from their (Russian) side, it’s 50 shells coming toward you, while from our side, it’s just one. Then you see how your friends are getting torn to pieces, and you realize that any second, it can happen to you’,” he said. ‘Meanwhile guys (Ukrainian soldiers) 6 miles away order you on the radio: ‘Go on, brace yourselves. Everything will be fine’,’ he said.”

Ukraine has a deficit of 4,000 troops on the front because of deaths, injuries, and desertions.

“Prosecutors and the military would rather not press charges against AWOL soldiers and do so only if they fail to persuade them to return, according to three military officers and a spokesperson for Ukraine’s State Investigative Bureau. Some deserters return, only to leave again.”

NFL, NBA Issue "Security Alert" After Migrant Gangs Target Players' Mansions

America's top professional sports leagues have warned players about the growing threat of illegal alien criminal gangs targeting their mansions. This comes after a string of break-ins of athletes' homes, including Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. 

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero published a note about how the sports league issued a "security alert" to teams after "organized and skilled criminals" targeted players' homes. 

Pelissero continued:

Sources say the FBI is investigating the crime wave as international organized crime. The league, the NFL Players Association and team security forces also have been monitoring the crime spree, which is believed to be tied to a South American crime syndicate. At least one other current NFL player's home was burglarized in the past week.

"It's legit," said one source familiar with the situation. "It's a transnational crime ring, and over the last three weeks, they've focused on NBA and NFL players, and it's all over the country."

The homes of Mahomes and Kelce were burglarized on consecutive days last month in the Kansas City area. The Minnesota home of former Vikings defensive tackle Linval Joseph, who now plays for the Dallas Cowboys, was part of a series of burglaries last weekend, according to police.

Multiple people with knowledge of the crimes said the perpetrators are nonconfrontational and do not burglarize homes while residents are inside. Instead, they use public records to find players' addresses and conduct extensive surveillance. Then, by tracking team schedules and the social media accounts of players and their families, they wait until homes are empty -- often during games -- and gain access and quickly steal items such as cash, jewelry, watches and handbags, focusing mainly on master bedrooms and closets.

The alert issued on Wednesday by NFL Security confirmed the modus operandi and offered a number of recommendations, including not posting in real time on social media, installing security systems and keeping valuables out of plain sight.

Separately, NBC News confirmed a memo sent by the NBA to teams, citing FBI intelligence, about crimes linked to "transnational South American Theft Groups" that target "professional athletes and other high-net-worth individuals."

Ukrainian Officials Pocket Half Of U.S. Aid Money, Launder Some Back To Democrats, Former Polish Official Reveals

A former Polish top official recently disclosed that up to 50 percent of the monetary aid package awarded by the United States to Ukraine is being pocketed and stolen by corrupt Ukrainian officials. He also revealed that the money laundering scheme also benefitted the Democrats who were pushing for continued financial and military assistance to Kyiv.

According to RT, Former Polish Deputy Minister Piotr Kulpa made the accusations on Thursday, Nov. 21, while speaking with Ukrainian journalist Lana Shevchuk.

“Everyone understands that war-related corruption is linked not only with Ukraine but also the supplier nation,” the news outlet quoted Kulpa. “Who would ever believe that the U.S. burned through $2 trillion in Afghanistan? It’s delusional!”

He further explained that U.S. aid programs were crafted as a mechanism to “write off large sums of money that finance shady systems under the Democratic Party’s control.” Kulpa, a vocal supporter of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump called on the incoming administration to review government finances to discover the truth that ‘Ukraine got very little’ compared to the amounts mentioned in public statements.

The Council on Foreign Relations cited the Congressional Budget Office in September that $175 billion has been given to Ukraine since February 2022. However, only $106 billion went directly to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s regime.

Kulpa further exposed that 30 percent to 50 percent of the aid, regardless of the nature, was being safely placed in the pockets of corrupt officials.

His claims are potentially true as Transparency International in December 2014 reported that Ukraine is Europe’s most corrupt country, with the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) of that year reflecting that the nation did not overcome the threshold of “corruption disgrace.”

Further adding to the accusations is the fact that Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska ordered a $4.83 million Bugatti Tourbillon just this July. According to Bugatti, production and delivery of the hypercar will not begin until 2026.

It is not a secret that Trump has been highly critical of the assistance the Biden administration has been sending to Kyiv. He has argued that EU nations should assume the burden of propping up Ukraine, while the American government should focus on its own priorities.

However, since Trump is not assuming office until January 2025, the Biden administration is making its last few pushes to send help to Ukraine. As per Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III, the U.S. is sending a new round of military assistance, valued at up to $275 million.

The package would include ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), mortar and artillery rounds and unmanned aerial systems to meet critical battlefield needs as Russia’s war of aggression surpasses 1,000 days.

The latest round of assistance marks the 70th drawdown of military equipment for Ukraine from the Department of Defense (DOD) inventories since August 2021, following Biden’s commitment in September to surge the more than $5 billion in remaining presidential drawdown authority funds authorized by Congress.

Pentagon warns that Kyiv’s corruption continues to complicate its NATO aspirations

According to the DOD’s quarterly report presented to the U.S. Congress last week, the corruption in the nation continues to complicate Ukraine’s efforts to achieve its European Union and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) aspirations.

Pentagon’s Inspector General Robert Storch also cited in the report that the country’s military is a “key player” in such scandals.

“Judges, politicians, and officials have been charged with corruption and the Ministry of Defense has been a key player in many corruption scandals,” the report noted, citing data from the U.S. State Department and other media sources. A Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) report revealed earlier this year that a corruption network inside the defense ministry existed. Five individuals attempted to steal 1.5 billion hryvnia (about $39.6 million) in state cash earmarked for mortar shell purchases.

Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov was also fired because of graft charges. His replacement, Rustem Umerov, stated in January that an audit found $262 million in theft-related charges in weapons purchases.

In May, Ukrainian media revealed a scheme in which officials in Kharkiv diverted millions of euros to fake businesses for non-existent building materials, leaving the area undefended when Russian forces arrived.

Also, General Dmitry Marchenko revealed in an interview that adaptability is a crucial prerequisite for a modern military and Kyiv’s force lacks it, And this is not because of the troops.

“Unfortunately, our bureaucracy, our corruption, do not allow us to adapt and quickly produce what we need,” he remarked, referring to Ukraine’s military sector.

It’s All Kicking Off in Syria Again.

Rebels in Syria—many with ties to terrorist and Islamic extremist groups, including al-Qaeda—have breached parts of Aleppo, the country’s second-largest city, leading to clashes with government forces. The confrontation was sparked by two car bombs detonated by the insurgents on Friday. The attacks and fight over the city mark renewed hostilities in the now over-decade-old Syrian civil war.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a prominent monitoring group, reported intense skirmishes between the insurgents and Assad government soldiers. Conflict intensified following a surprise offensive by the rebels on Wednesday. During this attack, they captured several towns and villages as they progressed toward Aleppo.

This rebel offensive is notable as it marks the first time since 2016 that opposition fighters have surrounded the city. That year, a Syrian military effort backed by Russia and Iran pushed insurgents out of Aleppo’s eastern neighborhoods. A subsequent ceasefire four years ago yielded a relatively peaceful period.

Local accounts describe Aleppo residents evacuating areas along the city’s western periphery due to missile fire and gunfights. An insurgent commander has utilized social media to implore civilians in Aleppo to cooperate with the rebels. The attacking forces are led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), formerly al-Nusra, a Sunni Islamist group and that was Syria’s official al-Qaeda affiliate before rebranding.

Syrian state media reported that projectiles fired by insurgents hit university student accommodations in central Aleppo. This attack resulted in four fatalities, including two students. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also indicated that at least 121 individuals have died since HTS, designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. government, initiated the current offensive.

For night owls who stayed up, SpaceX delivered a midnight show.

Its Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral.

It was carrying 24 Starlink satellites into orbit.

The launch was part of SpaceX’s ongoing mission to bring global internet services closer to reality.

Seems like a lot of work just to make sure people have internet access.

I think this is preparing for something big.

CAPE CANAVERAL SPACE FORCE STATION, Fla. – Night owls can see a rocket lift off from the Space Coast tonight as SpaceX attempts a launch.

SpaceX is targeting midnight for a Falcon 9 launch of 24 Starlink satellites from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

There is a backup opportunity early Saturday morning at 3:58 a.m. If the rocket doesn’t launch by then, the next option will be 11:39 p.m. Saturday night.

This launch continues SpaceX’s program to expand its Starlink satellite constellation and offer global internet services.
